2001: A Shred Odyssey
Already considered by nearly everyone as the number 1 Shred guitarist in the world, Joe has just instigated another nuclear musical event with the release of his fifth instrumental Cd, 2001: A Shred Odyssey. This Cd is a collection of new, live and former bonus tracks.
The Cd starts off with the most amazing recorded guitar solo since Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption." The title track is a ONE TAKE shred masterpiece that should have every guitarist in the world in awe. To say that this 6 minute track is beyond description is an understatement.
There are two other new guitar solo pieces on this Cd; "Nocturne" and "Partita #1 in A minor." These tracks showcase more of Joe's unparalleled playing style that encompasses technical fire, melody and chops.
The live tracks "Shredding In Shuffle City," "Psycho Shred Suite" and "Guitar Cadenza #2" were all recorded on Joe's most recent instrumental tour of the United States. The "Psycho Shred Suite" and "Guitar Cadenza #2" are also brand new tracks of Joe's. "Psycho Shred Suite" is an awesome display of very intense guitar. Joe claims "Psycho Shred Suite" is the most difficult piece of music to play that he has ever written. To be able to pull it off live without a mistake is just another accolade to this master of the six strings.
The remainder of the tracks are bonus tracks and/or previously commercially unavailable tracks. However these tracks are massive slabs of musicality in their own right. "The Haunting" and "Bullet Train" have to rank up in the Top 10 of Joe's tracks throughout time.
Joe once again has recorded an intense musician's dream come true. The words Godlike, maniacal, complex, emotional, shredmeister, guitar monster, brilliant and many more terms have been used to describe Joe's works through the years. We feel that all will agree that these tracks will also find a high placement in the Shred Hall of fame!
