Already considered by most in the know as the number 1 Shred guitarist in the
world, Joe has just raised the standard one notch higher with the release of his
fourth instrumental Rapid Fire Rondo. From the blazing title track to the weeping
"End Of An Era" to the blues madness of "Shredding In Shuffle City" to the subtle
"Echo Andante" to the wall of shred of "Unrelenting" to the mystical "Pharaoh's
Delight" to the rocking "Thrill Of The Chase" each and every track explodes into
the listener's face, mind and body!
Obviously music this intense and complex will not appeal to the simpleminded
nor the close minded. Each and every listen will bring new and exciting parts to
the forefront of the musical picture Joe is painting with his advanced musical
vision.
Joe sites influences from all styles of music in creating this astounding cd.
Some of the more notable are: Paganini, Bach, Beethoven, Blackmore, Malmsteen,
David T. Chastain, Rainbow, Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy.
Joe incorporates ideas from these greats and then takes it to the next level.
What is even more remarkable is that a lot of the guitar tracks where recorded
in one take while the drums and bass where laying down the rhythm tracks. Joe
states, "Some of the original rough tracks were so happening we just keep them
and didn't bother replacing them." I guess it can be better stated as why mess
with perfection!!
Joe used a few different drummers, keyboardist and bassists on this new cd. Joe
explained it this way, "I find each different musician brings something new to
the table and this in turn forces something a little different out of me when
playing to their tracks."
It really is hard to really express the intense dedication and performance that
Joe Stump brings to the music scene, especially in today's lax technical
standards. All that can be said is that Joe once again has recorded an intense
guitarist's dream come true. The words Godlike, maniacal, complex, emotional,
shredmeister, monster, brilliant and many more terms have been used to describe
Joe's works through the years. We feel that all will agree that Rapid Fire Rondo
is his best work to date!!
